[Paris] : J. L[ebeque] et cie., circa 1890. Terrestrial globe, 4 inches in diameter, engraved gores over papier-mâché sphere (some foxing and browning, very small 1cm loss near Antarctic pole), metal pin and arm on a turned French wooden stand, original. The engraver is credited as J. Bernhard. A very good example of a rare miniature table globe.

The firm of Lebeque was founded in Brussels in 1814 and relocated to Paris in 1850. This terrestrial globe is a charming example of a miniature pocket globe with Sidney and Adelaide marked on the continent of Australia. Scarce.
