Folio, contemporary plain calf ruled in blind, gilt bands to spine, contrasting morocco title label, scuffed with loss to head and foot of spine, hinges cracked, edges stained red, armorial bookplate to front free endpaper, engraved portrait frontispiece of Charles 1, pp. [2], 430, [2] pp., a little dusty but overall a very good clean copy.

Ostensibly written ‘By the King’, this work is in fact edited by W. Balconquhall, Dean of Rochester and later of Durham. It contains key declarations and documents relating to the political events in Scotland, leading up to the outbreak of Civil War in England.
