This rare survivor was produced for the Adelaide Amateur Musical Society’s second-ever concert, given at White’s Rooms on the evening of 21 July 1874. The second half of the programme comprised a performance of English composer W. H. Birch’s operetta in three acts, The Merrie men of Sherwood Forest; the first half included performances of works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. The South Australian Advertiser published a preview of the performance earlier that day, and advised subscribers to the Union that they were in for a musical treat.
Rare. Appears completely unrecorded.
