Sydney Australasian News Company, Limited, [1914]. Quarto, original pictorial wrappers (chipping and small tears at edges, originally fastened at one corner but now detached), containing [9] (of 12) unnumbered leaves, each with a full-page colour lithograph print by Harry Weston captioned with the name of a particular battleship, all prints with some marginal foxing (mostly confined to the bottom edge), otherwise in good condition. An incomplete example of an extremely scarce publication.

Renowned Sydney commercial artist Harry Weston’s series of humourous illustrations satirises the names of contemporary battleships. This incomplete set lacks the print of H.M.A.S. Australia – the nine it contains are all British battleships: H.M.S. Dreadnought; H.M.S. Challenger; H.M.S. Devastation; H.M.S. Audacious; H.M.S. Defiance; H.M.S. Encounter; H.M.S. Majestic; H.M.S. Invincible, and H.M.S. Powerful.
