[BOARD GAME] Lands End to John O’Groats : cycling race game.
[United Kingdom] : s.n., [c.1935]. Box of thick card, 270 x 230 x 30 mm, the lid with pictorial onlay featuring an illustration of Hubert Opperman riding a Malvern Star bike (mild wear and some light stains to edges of lid), box containing a folding game board, 560 x 250 mm, in fine condition.
A straightforward race game in the form of an 866 mile race on open roads, the route being the longest traject recognised by the Roads Records Association; lacking the printed directions sheet, but the rules are self-explanatory. The Australian cyclist Hubert Opperman broke the Lands End-John O’Groats record in 1934, making the trip in 57 hours 1 minute.
