A plate from The Birds of New Guinea and the Adjacent Papuan Islands (London : published by the author, 1875-1888), Gould’s last great colourplate book, completed after Gould’s death by Dr. R. B. Sharpe. Approximately 250 sets were issued, the full set containing 320 plates, each lithograph strikingly coloured by hand.
