DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION
Cookery. Instruction cards
Melbourne : Albert J. Mullett, Government Printer, circa 1920. 33 cards printed recto and mostly verso, 210 x 122 mm, some with neat manuscript recipes written on the blank versos, housed within a timber slipcase, a complete set.
A domestic guide to household cooking, with detailed recipes for roasting meats, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables, soups, caramels, pies, fritters, rissoles, stews, fish, puddings, biscuits, etc. Interestingly, card 26 concerns ‘Invalid cookery’ with recipes for the ill (beef tea, gruel, etc).
A rare and ephemeral set.
