English Bards and Scotch Reviewers is a major satirical poem written by Lord Byron, first published anonymously in March 1809. It serves as a scathing retaliation against the contemporary literary establishment, specifically targeting the critics and poets of his era including William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Byron finally suppressed the 5th edition in 1812, because he had come to regret his attitude toward those he had attacked.
