Written for a juvenile audience, Madame Forgame’s historical and geographical sketches cover plenty of territory, from the history of Ancient Egypt and Classical Greece to the customs and religion of the Gauls, to the cultures of China and Japan, Persia, India and Oceania. The latter chapter occupies eight pages and is divided into two sections: Australia and Polynesia.
