Duodecimo (170 x 120 mm), contemporary half calf over marbled papered boards (heavily rubbed), spine with embossed decoration, gilt rule and contrasting title-piece lettered in gilt (somewhat faded); pp. 129,1-118,118b-118e, [2 blanka] + [2],119-464; text in Swedish; the title-page of the first part has some minor staining, the inside of the rear cover and endpaper stained; tears in the upper margin on pp. 105-07 in the first pagination sequence; slight staining on p. 129 in the first pagination sequence to p. 4 in the second and also on pp. 9-15; ink spots on pp. 68-69; in part II, paper soiling at the top of the inner margin on p. 225 and damp stains in the lower margin of pp. 273-74 and in the fore-edge margin on pp. 357-62, 393-404 and sporadically thereafter; with signature of Pehr Gustaf Hanström (1820-88) dated Vimmerby on 2 October 1832 and another by him dated 29 May 1835. Note: Part I is the second edition.

Palmblad’s primer of physical and political geography contains a section entitled Australien (but it actually covers Oceania), which occupies the last ten pages of the second part.
