Melbourne : Robert Barr, 1893. quarto, gilt-lettered plum cloth (dulled and worn, small section of nibbling to spine), advertisements to pastedowns, pp. 52, preliminaries foxed, pen annotations to title page, printed in three columns, with numerous photographic and engraved illustrations, including including full-page maps of Western Australia and Perth and views of Albany, Geraldton, Fremantle, Cossack, Wyndham, Bunbury, etc. A good copy.

A rare book promoting investment in Western Australia, the new ‘golden colony’, together with information about the other colonies, particularly Victoria. It includes a full page bird’s eye view of Melbourne, engravings of early Melbourne by George Rossi Ashton, views of Collins Street and a description of the gold rush.
