The artist, Eva Nargoodah (b. 1958), is a Walmajarri speaker from the Kimberley region of northwest Western Australia. Two of her linocuts, including the artist’s proof for Kalparrku [Crab] are held in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia. Kalparrku featured in Mangkaja, Old Mangkaja, new prints : an exhibition of etchings and lino prints by artists from the Fitzroy Valley, held at the Australian Print Workshop, Melbourne, in 1995. The linocut is printed on APW paper.
