Eighteenth century edition of Linnaeus’ landmark work on the classification of species, complete with the supplement, which contains a description and image of the kangaroo, taken after the famous painting by George Stubbs, drawn from skins collected by Joseph Banks on Cook’s first voyage. One of the earliest images of a kangaroo published in Europe.
