Five original issues, Sal [=Année] 1, Hejmar [=Numéro] 10, 11, 13, 15, 17; quarto, unbound, stapled wrappers; text in Kurdish and French; each issue with old vertical fold, number 11 with loss to lower wrapper, otherwise all are complete and in good condition.
A scarce group of individual issues of the Kurdish language journal Hawar. Founded in 1932, Hawar was devoted to Kurdish culture and linguistics (including Yazidi studies), and was published fortnightly in the Kurdish quarter of Damascus. The newspaper continued in circulation until 1943.
