An article in Inside History Magazine provides some fascinating insights into the story of the quarrying of granodiorite at Moruya for the facing of the supports and pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The quarrying project employed some 250 stonemasons from Scotland, Italy and Australia from 1924 until the bridge's completion in 1932.
