First published in 1699, this influential manual on the use of globes was published in a number of editions in the eighteenth century. Bion held the position of Ingenieur du Roi for mathematical instruments, and L’usage des globes include illustrations and explanations for a number of scientific instruments including armillary spheres, planispheres, and globes.
Within Australian collections, the State Library holds the fourth edition of 1717, while the National Library holds the 5th edition of 1728.
