Colour map, 580 x 370 mm (sheet); scale 1: 500,000; with an inset map of Southern Palestine, and border decoration based on Old Testament-period motifs; in very fine condition, folding into the original grey wrappers, 190 x 110 mm, the front with an illustration of Abraham’s oak at Hebron, and with the original owner’s name D. Thompson in the top margin; a printed correction slip to the inside of the lower wrapper notes that ‘Some of the identifications are controversial’; a lovely example of a rare map.
