[Melbourne : Playhouse Theatre, ca. 1925]. 53 x 115 mm; in good condition.

Ypres was a feature-length documentary produced in 1925 by British Instructional Films and directed by Walter Summers. The film consists entirely of reconstructions of the various Battles of Ypres performed by members of the British Armed Forces. At this time, before the introduction of properly synchronised soundtracks, the generic term “cinephone” was often used to refer to a film-with-sound experience.
