Rare souvenir programme for the 1896 Melbourne production of “Trilby”, a play written by Franco-British writer George du Maurier (1834-1896). The production starred American touring actors Edith Crane, Reuben Fax, and Herbert Carr, and was a huge success, running for over two months at the Princess Theatre. The text is signed with the initials ‘R. C. B.’ at the foot of the last page.
The only copy recorded in Australian collections is held in the University of New South Wales Library.
