A vicious satire on hydrotherapy (a.k.a. hydropathy), in the form of a parody of Henry Wordsworth Longfellow’s Song of Hiawatha. The poem itself is entitled The Song of Milkandwatha; translated from the original Samoan-Feejee by Marc Antony Henderson, D.C.L., professor of the Samoan-Feejee and South-Sea Islands language and literature. It was originally published as The Song of Milgenwater (Cincinnati: Jones, Brown & Robinson, 1856).
