A commercial publication promoting Bowen State Coal (North Queensland), issued by the company which had been awarded the tender to act as sole bunkering and export agent for Bowen coal, H. C. Sleigh. In 1929 H. C. Sleigh was embroiled in a scandal over allegations made by the Minister for Mines (E. A. Atherton), that he had received a selling commission of 30.6 percent on coal he had purchased from the State coal mine at Bowen, and that the concession amounted to £6884 for 27,402 tons. Today, the highly controversial Adani Abbot Point coal terminal is located near Bowen.
