Recent paintings by Albert Namatjira and Leonard Long, A.R.A.S., painted in Central Australia for Artlovers’ Gallery

Extremely scarce: Trove locates no copies in Australian libraries. 

The prices for Namatjira’s watercolours in this exhibition catalogue range from 30 to 130 guineas. One, however, Waters of the Finke (no. 17) is marked ‘NFS’, having been acquired by Leonard Long prior to the exhibition opening. This particular painting was sold at auction sold by Smith & Singer in 2022 for AUD $200,000 (hammer), against an estimate of $40,000 – $60,000 (Important Australian Art, Woollahra, Nov. 16, 2022, lot 38).
