Cover: Sung by Mr Arthur Romer. Melbourne : Nicholson & Ascherberg, [1875]. Folio, lithographed cover by Charles Troedel of Collins Street, printed in green, original owner's inscription Mary G. Connell July 11th 1875 at upper right and blind stamp of bookseller Walch of Launceston at upper left, 3 pp of musical notation, a very good copy.

The composer, arranger and singer of this piece of music remain obscure. The publisher Eugene Ascherberg was born in Dresden and emigrated to Australia in 1870 where he settled in Melbourne and went into partnership with Nicholson until he left Australia in 1880 to try his luck in Britain, where, after an early bankruptcy, his music businesses flourished.

Copies are recorded in two Australian collections (National Library of Australia; State Library of New South Wales).
