A scarce wartime volume of poetry with the fragile Lindsay dustjacket and portion of secondary dustjacket.

Leonore Roche, his signature dated 1917 to title page, bookplate for Dr. J. Roche to front pastedown.
Inscribed opposite the title page is an inscription from a relative noting that the author Leon Gellert was wounded at the landing on 25.4.15 and sent back to Australia where he became a writer with the Sydney Morngin Herald. At the dedication of the Australian War Memorial on 11.11.03, the poem ‘The Last to Leave’, p. 71 of this book, was read out in the presence of the Australian and British Prime Ministers.
