Gelatin silver print photograph, 135 x 90 mm (oval format), on the original studio mount of grey board embossed in gilt at lower left ‘J. Lockwood, Geelong’; verso with contemporary caption in pencil: ‘Lil Pyers’; the print and mount are in excellent condition.

A stunning portrait of Miss Lilian Pyers, dressed to the nines and wearing a rabbit fur stole and hat bedecked with flowers.

Lilian’s marriage notice appeared in The Argus, 14 November 1914:

‘ALLAN—PYERS.—On the 22nd October, 1914, at St. Martin’s Church of England, Charlton, by the Rev. J. S. W. Coles, Fred. W. Allen, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan, Big Hill, Bendigo, to Ruby Lilian Pyers, second daughter of Mr. Geo. Pyers, and niece Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Stowe, Charlton.’
