[SYDNEY] Mort’s Floating Dock.

Circa 1870. Albumen print photograph, 200 x 250 mm, unmounted, verso with contemporary inscription: ‘Mort’s floating dock’, some light creasing, but a sharply detailed print with rich tonal range.

This photograph was sourced with a group that included similar format prints of the interior of the New South Wales Government Printing Office, strong evidence to suggest that this particular view of Mort’s Dock was also taken by the Government Photographer – most probably Charles Pickering.
