The first of A. & C. Black’s large format illustrated works of Outhwaite, ‘luxury books’ as described by Muir & Holden, lavishly illustrated and finely printed. School prize label pasted on the front free endpaper inscribed in the hand of the school principal ‘Presented by Mr & Mrs A. G. Outhwaite. Awarded to Vivienne James for Drawing, Ethel Gregory, Principal, Xmas 1921’. A good copy of the standard edition with an interesting presentation inscription from Ida Rentoul Outhwaite and her husband in the year of publication. Muir 5596.
