West Melbourne, Vic. : Kemp & Boyce, 1887 (one certificate); Melbourne : Centennial Printing & Publishing Co., 1889 (three certificates); Romsey, Vic. : Printed at the Examiner Office, 1891-1892-1900 (five certificates). Total of nine lithographed certificates, in uniform 165 x 195 mm format, printed on different coloured card stock, some with original ribbons attached; scattered foxing.

The electoral district of West Bourke covers the region to the immediate northwest of Melbourne, and takes in the townships of Sunbury, Lancefield, Gisborne, Romsey, Melton, Bacchus Marsh, and Blackwood. During the last part of the nineteenth century, the West Bourke Agricultural Society had as its president Sir Rupert Clarke, wealthy Sunbury pastoralist and entrepreneur.

These nine certificates were awarded to James Williams for first, second and third prizes in various livestock classes, including “Draught Mare, any age, Foal at foot’, ‘Lincoln Ram, 4 tooth and upwards’, Draught Stallion, 3 yrs Colonials’, ‘”Special” Red Filly Foal’, and ‘”Special” Red Colt Foal’.
