Gelatin silver print photograph, 90 x 135 mm, printed on postcard stock; image blind-stamped lower left ‘Chas. P. Scott / Unley, S.A.’ and wet-stamped upper right ‘Oodnadatta’; verso without message or inscription; in excellent condition.

This commercial postcard was produced by photographer Charles P. Scott between 1905 and 1908, the year he relocated his business from Unley to Weymouth Street, Adelaide. (Since the card has a divided back, it cannot have been published prior to 1905). The photograph is printed from Scott’s original negative, which was taken during his trip to Oodnadatta and Allendale and Todmorden Stations in Far North South Australia in 1903-04. The AGSA holds a larger format print of the same image (Accession number 757Ph10.2, Gift of Mr George Bagot 1975).
