Group of 3 (three) sepia-tone gelatin silver print photographs printed on postcard stock, in 89 x 138 mm format, versos with fully contemporary manuscript captions in German (likely to be in the hand of the photographer) identifying the locations precisely; all are in good condition.

These photographs were taken with personal camera and are almost certainly unique images.

The captions read as follows:

1. Insel Siar. Männer beim Kaihai (Essen). (Siar Island. Men at Kaihai (feast))
2. Männer und Frauen von der Insel Ragetta bei Fr. Wilhelmshafen. (Men and women from Ragetta Island near Friedrich-Wilhemshafen [present-day Madang]).
3. Frauen und Männer von Dampier Island in der Nähe von Fr. W.Hafen. (Women and men from Dampier Island [present-day Karkar Island] in the vicinity of Friedrich-Wilhemshafen).
