This informal photograph of Norman Lindsay (1879-1969) and his friend, fellow artist Elioth Gruner (1882-1939), is by an unidentified photographer. It is likely to have been taken on Lindsay’s Springwood property in the Blue Mountains around 1922, around the same time that Lindsay made his pencil portrait of Gruner that is now held in the National Portrait Gallery collection (2017.150).
