Departing from Sydney, the guide covers Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gympie, Bundaberg, Mackay and Thursday Island, with an article ‘Buffalo Shooting and other sport’ in Port Darwin, Northern Australia by A. B. Paterson, illustrated by George Washington Lambert, an essay first published in The Sydney Mail on January 7, 1899.

The route from Port Darwin to Hong Kong is illustrated with views of Dilly (Dili) in Timor and islands in the Celebes, with 10 pages on Hong Kong, Canton and Macao including a full page map and a view of Victoria Harbour. The next 25 pages cover Japan, and the subsequent 110 pages Sydney and New South Wales. The guide then travels to Melbourne and Victoria (with views of picking wine grapes), Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Launceston, all with maps, photographs and advertisements.

Scarce, with four copies recorded on Trove, and a single copy at auction (Kiefer Buch und Kunstauktionen, 2020, EUR 590).
