Sixth-plate ambrotype with applied colour, 70 x 80 mm; in a double elliptical brass mat, housed in the original leather case with embossed floral designs, with working brass clasp; the velvet lining is stamped ‘From J. W. Blanchard’s Photographic Gallery, No. 8 First Street, opposite Troy House, Troy, N.Y.’; both the ambrotype and case are in good condition.
