This pamphlet appears to be a continuation (with variant title) of António da Encarnação and Bishop Miguel Rangel’s Relaçoès summarias de alguns serviços que fizeram a Deos, e a estes reynos, os religiosos Dominicos, nas partes da India oriental nestes annos proximos passados, published in Lisbon by Craesbeeck in 1635.

It contains an overview of the recent activities of the Portuguese Dominicans in the Indonesian islands during the mid-seventeenth century, including an account of interactions between the Portuguese and the Dutch.

The Portuguese chronicler and theologian António da Encarnação (1595-1665) undertook his religious training at the Convento de São Domingo in Évora. He visited Goa and Armenia, and subsequently served as a deputy of the Inquisition in Évora and Lisbon after his return to Portugal.
