A work by French Jesuit Michel Le Tellier (1643-1719), who served as the confessor to King Louis XIV and was known for his staunch anti-Jansenist and anti-Protestant views. In it, he defends the Jesuit actions in the Far East, South Asia, and both South and North America. According to Cordier, this Spanish translation consists of the first part only, which is all that was printed. Gabriel de Párraga, named as the translator, has been identified as the pseudonym of José López de Echaburu (Simón Díaz BLH, XIII, p. 418).
