Two albumen print photographs, carte de visite format, 105 x 64 mm (mount); versos with the highly decorative back mark of ‘J. W. Lindt, Photographer, 7 Collins Street East, Melbourne. Prize Medallist Philadelphia, Paris, Sydney, Brisbane, Sandhurst, Melbourne, Christchurch, Amsterdam’; both in fine condition.

The carte can be dated to around 1885 based on the fact that the Calcutta International Exhibition (the latest of the exhibitions mentioned in Lindt’s backmark) was held from December 1883 to March 1884.
