Publisher’s fitted wooden cabinet, 145 x 170 mm, bound in straight grained morocco, lettered in gilt across upper pediment, a few scratches and scuffs, split to lower panel, glass-fronted door with clasp containing eight duodecimo volumes, each in publisher’s blind-embossed cloth, gilt titles and decorations to spines, each approximately 350 pages, engraved illustrations, all edges gilt, a fine set.

A charming miniature cased library for the Victorian child, filled with volumes of the writings of Shakespeare (the spelling of his name had yet to be standardised)
