Norman Lindsay water colour book

Eighteen reproductions in colour from original watercolours with an appreciation of the medium by Norman Lindsay and a biographical survey of the artist’s life and work by Godfrey Blunden. Sydney : The Springwood Press, 1939. Quarto, embossed green cloth in dustjacket (small chip to head of spine, scattered foxing), warm gift inscription (in both pen and pencil) on the endpaper from John Brackenreg to Allan P. Rigby, pp. 58, with 18 tipped-in colour plates, housed in the rare original publisher’s card slipcase (sunned and edges rubbed, one corner split). Edition limited to 1850 copies of which 1820 were for sale. The first state of this publication, whose production was interrupted by the Second World War, a variant state being issued circa 1945 to complete the print run.
