An eye catching, rose-festooned Bumpus binding in good condition. Beautiful spine in 5 panels, a little sunned, incorporating further floral decoration and titled in gilt. Text block edges in crisp gilt. Marbled front and rear endpapers, clean and edged decoratively. Moyra Brodrick bookplate to front and rear pastedowns. Fly leaves lightly soiled, remainder of text block in excellent condition. Contains a collection of over 193 individual lyrics from 77 different authors including Sir Walter Scott, Sir Walter Raleigh, Christopher Marlowe, Richard Lovelace, Robert Burns and Sir John Suckling. 221 pp. Lady Moyra Brodrick (1897-1983) married Sir Henry Charles Loyd in 1922; he distinguished himself in both World Wars but this book suggests more tender moments as well.
