Duodecimo (150 x 95 mm), contemporary embroidered binding, the copper-coloured silk ground decorated with silver stumpwork floral motifs overall, the upper cover with a central cartouche embroidered in coloured silks depicting a bird in foliage, the lower cover with central cartouche also embroidered in silk and possibly depicting the Roman goddess Flora, lower cover with remnant original ties; title leaf printed in red and black (small perforation, nicks at edges, old stamp of Halden Folkebibliotek, Norway); pp. [40], 757 (lacking the last leaf, i.e. with p. 758 recto and colophon verso); text in Danish; the binding exhibits even wear and has an expected amount of fading; preliminaries with some minor edge tears and dog-eared lower corners, occasional pale water stains or browning, last leaf trimmed at fore-edge with loss of some letters; housed in a custom clamshell box.
