According to Barrie (Australians behind the camera), Herbert Blackadder was a professional photographer working from premises in Goulburn Street, Crookwell, in 1905-07. He later worked as a dentist and chemist, but he clearly also took a keen interest in local amateur sports as newspaper reports tell us he refereed rugby matches in the Crookwell district.
