[Dear friends. After an 8-hour plane trip here we are in New York, tired but happy all the same. We won’t have time to get bored, there is a deluge of invitations and there is talk of spending a few days in Texas! An oral “report” will be given to you in Brussels soon, I hope. Sincerely. R M]
In December 1965, Magritte travelled to the United States for the first time, on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of his work at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
The poet André Bosmans (1922-2014) was editor-in-chief of the surrealist journal Rhétorique.
