Drury 1896’ ; recto of mount with imprint of ‘Wiley, 8 Queen Street, Brisbane’; the print has a light horizontal crease extending from the lower right edge; the mount has some pale foxing and corner wear, and the two longer edges are trimmed slightly.
The wedding of Lilian Drury and Harold Saltmarshe was reported at length in the Brisbane Courier, 5 December 1901. The report opened:
‘FASHIONABLE WEDDING. Saltmarshe-Drury. The marriage of Miss Lilian Drury, oldest daughter of the late Colonel Drury, and Mr. Harold Saltmarshe, of Saltmarshe, Yorkshire, England, was celebrated at St. Michael and All Angels Church of England, New Farm, at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Seldom has this popular suburban church seen so brilliant a gathering as on this occasion, the sacred edifice mangrounds being thronged with a fashionable assemblage of invited guests, and with other interested spectators, residents of the district, where the bride’s family have resided for many years….‘
